Q: The horse you’ve felt the most connected to and why.
A: Probably my current horse Lucky Penny, who’s been my partner since 2003. After losing my first horse to a heart attack, I never again thought I’d ever see another horse. Two months later, my uncle found a 15 year old green-broke, solid bay, 16hh quarter horse broodmare I instantly fell in love with. Not long after, she experienced a crippling blow of laminitis in both her front hooves. Through months and years of rehab, Penny and I are back on our feet training through first level and having all sorts of fun.

Q: What’s the latest movie you’ve seen?
A: Not technically a movie, but the 1996 Dressage Freestyle World Cup on VCR with champions Anky and Bonfire. Gotta love how far the sport and technology has evolved!

Q: What’s your favorite playlist on your iPod and your current favorite song?
A: My favorite playlist on my iPod is my Riding list. My current favorite song is “A Little More Country Than That” by Easton Corbin.

Q: Team Edward or Team Jacob? And why?
A: As I haven’t actually seen or read any of the Twilight series, I’m for Team Jacob, the underdog.

Q: What’s your dream vacation and why?
A: A dream vacation of mine would be to attend an FEI level competition in dressage kur and watch world class athletes in action!

Q: If you’re not interested in having a career in the horse world, what type of career are you looking to pursue?
A: If not in the horse world, I would have to pursue a career with animals in research and medicine. They deserve just as much care as us humans do!

Q: If you were a candy/sweets/chocolate, what would you be?
A: My ultimate favorite candy, Hot Tamales. I love anything with cinnamon, sweet and spicy.

Q: Do you have a good luck charm?
A: My good luck charm is the penny I found in my boot after the pre-purchase exam with Penny. So far its still got its charm!

Q: What is your favorite HorseGirlTV® webisode and why?
A: Out of all the great interviews and informative (sometimes whimsical) webisodes, my favorite has to be the interview with Debbie McDonald. She is one of my equestrian role models not only because she’s a star athlete and Olympic gold medalist, but because she takes the time to give back to those who are going through devastating illnesses. She truly is a living legend on and off her horses. I can’t wait for more interviews with top riders and the chance to learn about their lives beyond horses. Thanks HorseGirlTV®.

Thanks Mallory! We’re happy to have you as one of our HorseGirl’s of the Month and thanks for watching the series!

The HorseGirl Supplement, Flex+Max

July 15th, 2010

HorseGirl Mail: What supplement does HorseGirl use? Flex+Max!

Many viewers have emailed in asking about what Angelea uses around the farm for feed, forage and supplements so we decided to cover the basics of supplements. The preferred supplement around the HorseGirlTV farm is Flex+Max because it contains everything we could want in a supplement in it so there’s one bucket, one scoop and it’s definitely a time saver too. The plus side is being able to feed it to the dogs as well and they love the taste as much as the horses. We use the pellets but you can get it in a powder as well. For more info on Flex+Max you can check out Absorbine’s website at http://www.absorbine.com/
