Anky van Grunsven is a Dutch dressage champion who is the only rider to receive triple Olympic Gold Medals in dressage.


HorseGirlTV's Angelea Kelly was fortunate to fly to Holland with her Contucci mare in 2009 to train with the legendary Anky van Grunsven for several months. During her time there, HorseGirlTV was able to capture an interview with Anky talking about her successes in the dressage arena, home life, and her transition to international reining competition. Anky competed on the Dutch reining team in Lexington, Kentucky at the World Equestrian Games in 2010.

Bonfire, upon whom she had many of her early successes, was retired in 2002. Salinero quickly took over as van Grunsven's top horse, and remained in that position until his retirement in 2013, after making a major comeback to compete in the 2012 Olympic Games.
